Master Bath and Guest Bath Remodel
Location: Ridgeview Court, Pleasant Hill
Designer: Thomas Design Group
This project consisted of a compete remodel of two full baths, including the relocation of all major fixtures. Finishing elements in each bath were designed to reflect the clients’ appreciation of traditional Japanese aesthetics; particularly seen in the use of traditional “tansu” cabinets, which were modified to be used as the vanity cabinets. The use of a shallow depth vanity cabinet and a corner shower in the master bath created more floor space, creating a larger feel in this small bath. In the guest bath, the toilet and vanity cabinet were raised 4” on their own localized floor to accommodate taller individuals, and a pocket door was installed to gain the floor space lost by the former traditional in-swinging door.
